Ann Coulter's Racist Thoughts on the Financial Crisis

Ann Coulter always has the special ability to infuriate me, yet somehow her post on Townhall.com last week still managed to surprise me. She blamed the morgage crisis and failing ecomony on affirmative action, stating that it took a Democratic Congress with a Democratic President for political correctness to ruin the financial industry. So to be fair, she really blames the Clinton administration and minorities.

Worse economy will be the result

One of the biggest targets for
politicians, as far as economics are concerned, is becoming the payday loan
industry. Governors across the country are trying to rid their states of the
industry altogether, and so far, Georgia, North Carolina, and Oregon have
succeeded. The result was that bankruptcies, foreclosures, and also the number
of overdraft fees due to bouncing checks went through the roof, which doesn’t
do anything for the citizens afflicted in these turbulent times, and only is
really good for the banking industry. Despite these negative effects, other
states are looking to follow the example and do the same. Even at the national
level, presidential candidate Barack Obama, is weighing in his own agenda on
the issue, and advancing his own intentions on getting rid of the industry in
the United States completely. If these measures, both on state levels and
nationally, are successful, the results are going to be increased unemployment,
more debt, more foreclosures, and an even worse economy.

With our economy...

With our economy going into a slump, why is it
that political figures are destroying valid financial options? Payday loans are
an essential part of the U.S. financial system, providing loans to those who
have bad or no credit that need the money fast. Yet, for one reason or another,
legislators are targeting this financial system. Some states, such as Georgia
and North Carolina, have even banned the industry all together! The politics
behind it is simple; banks are lobbying the legislators to try and destroy
their oncoming competition, and the legislators are falling for it. Even taking
out the fact that banks are trying to take away your financial choices and
freedoms so they can have a monopoly on loans, the corruption of our politics
is simply wrong. Our opinions must be heard, and our freedom of choice,
financial or not, should not be dampened on the soul fact on one person's
financial gain.
